Obituary of Mary Diane Lamielle

Mary Diane Griffis Lamielle, 72, of Voorhees, NJ passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 in Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill. Born in Camden, NJ she was a lifelong resident of Voorhees. Mary was a nationally recognized educator and advocate for people impacted by chemical and environmental exposures. She was the founder and executive director of the National Center for Environmental Health Strategies. Mary was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including the 2011 New Jersey State Governor's Jefferson Award for her advocacy and support of the environment. Mary is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles J. Lamielle, her two sisters, Catherine Simonds of Collingswood; Linda Poloskey of Conway, SC; two brothers, Ronald Griffis of Corpus Christi, TX and John Griffis of Washington Township and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, 10:30 am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street, Hammonton where a viewing will be held from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
