Jacob "Jake" P. Albert, 81 of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, June 19, 2023. Jake was born in Buffalo, NY and first moved to Hammonton in 1974, living with his family on Passmore Ave. In 1979, he relocated to Hollywood, FL for work, but returned to Hammonton in 1985 residing on S. Grand St. with his family ever since.
He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for Four Winds Services at NAFEC in Egg Harbor Township and previously at Eastern Airlines in Philadelphia, PA and Miami, FL. Jake was an avid bicyclist, often seen pedaling out to Batsto or Weymouth Furnace. He loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the South Jersey Enduro Riders, frequently participating in rides and volunteering in clean-ups in Wharton State Forest. Jake also enjoyed camping, gardening, and working in his yard and garage on his bikes, often while listening to his favorite band The Rolling Stones.
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry J. and Monica Albert (nee Phillips), his sister, Judith Hassett, and his brother, David Albert. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol A. Albert (nee Lakatosh), loving daughter, Lorie Anne Albert, two brothers, Samuel Albert (Donna), and Timothy J. Albert, three sisters, Dolores Byron (Peter), Sarah Jaye (Ronald), Kristina Neuland (John), and many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date in Elma, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at pcf.org. Arrangements by the Carnesale Funeral Home, www.carnesalefuneralhome.com
