Q: How did you meet Luz? A: I met Luz at a Jornada retreat and through my friend Richard dow her husband she was a kind woman that I always respected her family are very great to be around with I was in there wedding 28 years ago the things I'm going to miss about Luz is her laugh and Luz was and will always be my friend my sister Luz you are now with God it hurts that your gone but my friend Luz will always be remembered as a great woman ,friend ,and sister I know she is now with her mother Luz was a good friend to me I didn't know but I will always remember Luz as a sister that always use to tell me Fred your will always find someone because your a good friend and brother when I found out on April 12, 2023 that she past it hurt me so all the people that knew Luz please remember who she was the saying we use to say in the Jornada retreat Todo Jesus por Maria Toda Maria por Jesus may God bless you always my friend Friends are friends forever. If the Lord’s the Lord of them, a friend will not say never ’cause the welcome will not end. I work in the I.T. department for NCAAR (formerly NCADD-NJ) and had many interactions with Luz. I was sad to hear she needed to leave, and kept her in my prayers, and sadder still when I heard of her passing. She was a sweetheart and we had a lot of laughs. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
