KEITH CONROY posted a condolence
Thursday, July 28, 2022
Rich,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Lorie coached all three of our children at Haddon Township. She was always there for them both in tennis and in school. She went out of her way to help my daughter Lauren when my Mom passed, which meant a great deal to me. l know both you and Lorie were good friends with my coach at HTHS, Mr. Jim Lamb. Watching Lorie coach the tennis team, I could see the similarities in her coaching and Mr. Lamb's. We were, and continue to be, big fans of Lorie. She will be missed.

Mrs. Foster was not only my Guidance Counselor but my tennis coach for two years. I played tennis just for fun and to be with my friends but Mrs. Foster always pushed me to want to be the best regardless. She was a great teacher, coach and inspiration. She will be missed. Best to her family, including Mr. Foster, who was also my math teacher.

I had the privilege of coaching tennis with Lorie for a few years. I learned so much from her. Beyond the tennis skills, she taught the athletes the value of sportsmanship and life skills such as a proper handshake with eye contact. The world has lost a beautiful person but she left a piece of her in the thousands of lives she touched.

I am beyond grateful for having Sarge as a coach and mentor while at HTHS. She was such a positive influence on me and a role model for all of us. She was a strong woman who we all looked up to but also incredibly kind and encouraging. Mr Foster and Sarge were the couple for our class. We loved them! I send my heartfelt condolences to Mr Foster. And send him hugs from SC. Wish I could be there in person. Love and sympathy to all of her family.

Sarge was a teacher, coach, and later… a friend. She was one of the reasons that I too became a PE teacher and coach. She was a great mentor and role model and I am forever grateful for having had her in my life.
I know that she will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her, but will continue to be with us in our hearts.

The world is a better place because of Mrs. Foster. I, along with hundreds of other HTHS students, was lucky to have had her coaching and guidance through my high school years. She never hesitated to crack the whip for all the right reasons, and she could make a rowdy group of teenage athletes straighten up with just a side-eyed glance. Mrs. Foster even wrote me a faux-guidance hall pass once to help me execute an elaborate "promposal" ha! Recently some old HT friends and I have picked tennis back up, and just last week I snapped this photo of a quote Mrs. Foster often said to me, and made into a sticker to put on my racquet. I'll treasure it and her memory always -Fitz Maro

“Sarge” or “Coach” was simply the Best! In coaching our Boys Tennis Team, all of us with different personalities and styles, she had the perfect balance of discipline when needed and when to just let us joke around and have fun like High School kids need. Just a Wonderful person!
RIP Coach
