Obituary of Ana Maria Torres

Ana María Torres 83 of Philadelphia PA died peacefully in the hospital on November 14, 2018. Ana was born on April 17th 1935 in Salinas, PR to parents Rosaura and Juan Velez. At the age of 17 Ana married and shortly thereafter moved to Doylestown,PA. After living many years in PA Ana decided that she would make the change to move to Hammonton, NJ to have a better life for her and her children. Once she established herself she then started to work in various factories until she was able to land a job at Lenox China as an inspector. She gave Lenox China 16 years of service and then retired. Once retired she took care of her ill daughter Yvette. Years later She then returned back to Pennsylvania to now take care of her ill mother too. She was predeceased by her two daughters, Yvette Ramirez and Miriam Torres. Ana leaves behind 1 sister Delvia Diaz ( Julio Diaz )of Brooklyn, NY 8 children - Ruth E Rodriguez of Philadelphia PA , Margaret Rivera of Atco NJ, Agnes Hanna ( William ) of Maryland, Edwin Torres Sr. of Reading,PA, Annette Stowers ( Wayne ) of Homosassa FL,  Anna Reveron ( Bernard ) of Philadelphia, PA,  Marilyn Nogue (Alberto) of Hammonton, NJ and Eduardo Marrero of Philadelphia, PA. Ana has 36 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. While living in Hammonton Ana made so many memories with family and friends. One of Ana's most memorable moments was going to the Puerto Rican Civic Club were she spent many nights dancing, something she really loved to do. She will be Deeply missed by her children and many friends. You will forever be in our hearts. Bendición Mami. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 20, 2018 11:30am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Monday, Nov. 19, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton.
