I heard about Jack from his cousin Mary Ann.
I remember playing running bases in Jack's back yard with his cousin Pat Coleman. Jack had a Tony Kubek model glove and i had to copy him. It is no surprise he played softball for as long as he did.
Happy trails old friend until we meet again. RIP.
Peace and all good.

My condolences to his family and beloved wife, Bernedette. Bern, I have always told you how amazing you are and how very lucky Jack was to have you in his life. You are the reason why we were able to share so many more memories with him. You extended his life and gave unselfishly, unconditionally, with so much love. You opened your home and arms to us. I admire the person you are and am proud to say you are my special friend. Jack’s memory will always remain alive. You know I am here for you, with all the support and love you need.
Love you!! Zita

His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away—
His journey has just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think of how he must be wishing
that he could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost—
and he was loved so much.
Jack was loved by so many
the memories, laughs, cries and his sense of humor
will always be treasured in my heart
Until we meet again my friend, watch over us
for you are now our beautiful angel from heaven.
Zita

My condolences to the Valente family. I was 9-10 years old, visiting with my parents, and have a fond memory of Jack, an older cousin by 7 years, introducing me to the glorious sound of the Beach Boys.

Dear Bernadette,
Mercy and I were extremely saddened by the news of Jack's passing. He was not just someone we both worked with, he was our friend. We had many good times together at your home. We will always remember those days fondly. We will be thinking of him whenever we watch his beloved Yankees.
May you and the family find some comfort in the knowledge that you have friends here that offer you their prayers, love and support.
We pray he will be rewarded with eternal rest, peace and light.

Jack was my partner in the Sheriff’s Department in the seventies, we were assigned to the warrant squad. He always had my back and I for him. He was a man of integrity and he was witty, sense of humor, and most of all he displayed compassion for others. I’m going to miss our conversations. I know your standing next to God and I’m glad your not suffering anymore. Goodbye my friend.I’m sorry for the family’s loss. Bernadette I’m so so sorry for your loss. God Bless Jack and his family. Rest In Peace George

I was so fortunate to have Jack in my life. He was a wonderful friend who could always make me laugh. Through him, I became friends with Bernadette, his remarkable wife. Nobody would have/could have cared for Jack as selflessly as you did, Bern. You extended his quality of life longer than anyone expected. My heart goes out to you for the loss of the love of your life.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bernadette @ this time. My relationship with Jack has been all about Senior Softball over the last 20 years. I had the pleasure of being Jack's manager and teammate on many NJ State Champion and one National Champion team. Once I found we were both in Florida in was great to reunite for 2 great years on the Pirates in Englewood. I especially remember 3 things about Jack, (1) he could roll out of bed and hit a line drive to right center, (2) his beat up old glove that I think he got from Abner Doubleday, (3) his team party (with Bernadette's help !!) after the 2015 season. R.I.P. my friend, although I am sure you have already started hitting those line drives for your new team above.

Jack was an incredible human being. We met Jack and Bernadette a few years ago and they opened up their home to us as if we were family and made us feel so welcome. And I will never meet a more kinder gentleman who had such an amazing attitude. He will be missed so and our hearts go to Bernadette and the family. Rest in peace Jack see you on the other side have one ready. Much love and respect, God Bless

Our prayers are with Bernadette at this difficult time. We have so many happy memories of our visits to Florida. Jack always made us feel comfortable and welcome in their home. He fought a great fight and kicked cancer’s ass for a remarkable amount of time. Rest in peace, Jack.
