Obituary of Annie DiGerolamo

Annie DiGerolamo (nee Arena) of Hammonton passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at her residence. Born and raised in Hammonton she graduated from St. Joseph's Elementary School in 1942 and was a graduate of Hammonton High School Class of 1946. She graduated from Atlantic Community College with Honors in 1990 with an Associates Degree in Education. Mrs. DiGerolamo was the Chairperson for the Hammonton March of Dimes in the 1970's. She was a member of St. Joseph's Altar Rosary Society, served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Church; was a member of their St. Rita's Society. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph's RC Church having received all of her sacraments there. Mrs. DiGerolamo was a member of the Knights of Columbus Palotti Council Auxiliary, the Hammonton Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, PTA, Deborah Heart and Lung and was a volunteer for Kessler Hospital Sew-Sew Club, where she was a PBX operator for 20 years. She also worked for NJ Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. Mrs. DiGerolamo enjoyed making afghan's for her friends and family. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank A. DiGerolamo, her son Mario J. DiGerolamo Sr., her parents, Mariano and Gaetana (Ruggeri) Arena; her twin sister at 11 months old, Jennie; her baby sister Maria and her sisters, Angie and Rosie and her only brother John Arena. Mrs. DiGerolamo is survived by her son Frank W. DiGerolamo and his wife Pamela; her daughter in law Linda Price; her sister, Sue Padulese all of Hammonton; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 24, 2018, 12:00 pm in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's 226 French St., Hammonton, where a viewing will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice NJ-Shore 6550 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ 08234, or to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, 226 French St., Hammonton.
