Obituary of Luis Ortiz

Luis Ortiz, 86, of Hammonton passed away on Wednesday Feb. 7, 2018. Born in Puerto Rico he lived in Hammonton for more than forty years. He formerly worked at Harrah's Hotel and Casino as a cook. He was a member of UNITE HERE Local 54 in Atlantic City. Mr. Ortiz was predeceased by his wife Juanita and his granddaughter, Alexa. Mr. Ortiz is survived by his three children, Luis Manuel Ortiz (Gigi Vargas) of Vero Beach, FL; Lisette Roman (Richard) of Galloway; Maritza Ortiz (Toby Collier) of Egg Harbor City ; six siblings, Felipe Ortiz, Mariano Ortiz, Victor Ortiz, Raymond Ortiz, Margarita Ortiz and Yolanda Ortiz, twelve grandchildren, Luis, Angie, Junior, Kaya, Oliver, Jovanni, Samantha, Richard Jr., Clarissa, Tobi, Catobey, and Jordan, and one great grandchild, Rashaud. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 11:30 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton.
