Obituary of Demetrio Cortes

Demetrio Cortes Ortiz, 82, of Mays Landing passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 in Acuity Hospital in Atlantic City. He was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico where he was a self-employed farmer. He was predeceased by his son, Edwin Cortes and his daughter, Diana Cortes. Mr. Cortes Ortiz is survived by his wife, Irene Perez of Egg Harbor; his four sons, Angel Cortes of Egg Harbor Township; Eduardo "Eddie" Cortez of Mays Landing, Norberto Cortes of Egg Harbor; Demetrio Cortes, Jr. of Puerto Rico; his daughter, Evelyn Cortes of West Atlantic City; his brother Benito Cortes of Puerto Rico; 3 sisters, Julia Cortes, Delia Cortes; Josefina Cortes; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parrish, Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French St. Hammonton. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
