Obituary of Norman H. Caldwell

Norman H. Caldwell, 54, of Mays Landing passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 while in Baltimore working. Born in Philadelphia on Nov. 28, 1961, he attended schools there until moving to Mizpah, NJ. Norman attended Duberson Middle School and was a 1980 Graduate of Oakcrest High School. He joined the Navy in 1980 and was discharged in 1984 to the Naval Reserves where he was discharged in 1986. Norman went to work in the Philadelphia Naval Yard, where he stayed for 3 years before moving on to the Federal Prison. He joined Homeland Security in 1997 and remained there until his passing. Norman was assigned at Curtis Bay in Baltimore MD. He loved gardening, fishing, movies and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He was a diehard Eagles fan, he was "green through and through." Norman is survived by his wife, Centenna "Jackie" Caldwell (nee Erwin); his daughter, Nicole Caldwell of Mays Landing; his mother, Alma Caldwell of Paulsboro; his brothers, Artzillo, Lee, Daniel, Arthur, Arzra, Tupac, Catauga, Djoulou, Aghasi, Oderi, Paul, Henry, Kevin and his brother Olin who predeceased him; his sisters, Alma, Diallah, Atara, Azanda; Sandra and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 11:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, where a visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. The family is encouraging everyone to wear a Philadelphia Eagles jersey/shirt or any jersey/shirt from the Philadelphia sport teams of the Flyers, Sixers or Phillies since Norman was such a HUGE Philadelphia sports fan.
