Obituary of Peter Nelson Christon

Peter Nelson Christon departed this world unexpectedly, far too early, at the age of 48 on Saturday, March 19th. Peter was the son of Rebecca "Becky" and Peter Christon of Hammonton. In addition to his parents, Pete is survived by his wife Cindy, and his daughters Amanda and Hailey and his brother Tucker "TJ" and his husband Matt. Peter was born in New York City and graduated from Arch Bishop Malloy High School in 1986. Pete remained a fan of most things New York, especially his beloved New York Giants. No one was happier with the Giants' four Super Bowl victories than Pete. Thirty years ago Pete moved to Hammonton with his parents and his brother Tucker. Not long afterward he began a career that involved working with his mind and hands. Pete loved being at work and was a "mechanic" in the true sense of the word. He was Mr. Fix-it. Pete could repair anything from a truck, car and lawnmower, or replace a roof, construct a deck or build an addition to a home. Though the last few years were trying times in his life, all you had to do to make Pete smile was to mention his daughters Amanda and Hailey. He loved them with all his heart. In addition to his wife, daughters, parents and brother, Pete leaves behind his uncles, Martin Christon (Dorothy), Richard Johnson (Margaret), Edmund Johnson (Diane) and Nelson Johnson (Johanna), together with his cousins: Jeffery Johnson, Richie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Jennifer Jones, Sarah Beth Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Emily Johnson, Christopher Christon, Lorrie Christon, and his "second brother," Eddie Johnson. The family will receive friends and well-wishers at Camesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 between the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00pm.
