Obituary of John A. Amendolia

John A. Amendolia, Sr., 92 of Hammonton left this earth on Tuesday April 29, 2014 to be with his wife Marie (nee Comunale) and his youngest child Barbara Ann. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident. Since a young child he worked on the family farm and spent a lot of his time there growing fruits and vegetables that he lovingly gave to his family and friends. Mr. Amendolia was an U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the New Jersey Farm Bureau Assoc. and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1026 in Hammonton. He worked at Hammonton Park Clothes in the shipping department for over 30 years. He also worked alongside his family at Columbia I, Columbia Caterers and West End Grille. He is survived by his daughter Diane A. Johnson and her husband Edmund of Hammonton, two sons and their spouses, Andrew and Kathy Amendolia of Egg Harbor Twp.; John A. and Nancy Amendolia, Jr. of Hammonton; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Jones (Robert), Edmund C. Johnson III, Joseph A. Amendolia, John A. Amendolia, Jessica Ordille, Justin Ordille, Lauren Amendolia, Michelle Amendolia; three great grandchildren, Alexis Jones, Nikki Jones and Chayce Ordille. Mr. Amendolia is also survived by three sisters in law, Mary Amendolia, Catherine Amendolia and Dorothy Mendolia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11:30am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday 9:00am until 11:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St. Hammonton. Memorial Donations may be sent to St. Jude's Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
