Obituary of Gilberto "Jimmy" Herrera

Gilberto "Jimmy" Herrera, 80, of Mullica Township passed away on Friday at Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center City Division. Born in Arecibo, PR he lived in this area for many years. He worked for Blue Anchor Fencing for over 47 years building cedar fences. Mr. Herrera was a longtime member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish in Hammonton. He was predeceased by his wife, Sicilia "Sisi" Herrera, his daughter, Yolanda Herrera and his brother Concepcion Herrera. Mr. Herrera is survived by one son, Gilberto "Herbie" Herrera Jr. (Debbie), one daughter, Andrea Chen (Derek) of Galloway Township, four grandchildren, Adam Chen, Chris Herrera, Bianca Herrera and Christopher Kaspar, five great grandchildren, Alexus Kaspar, Cristian Bonilla, Jaslene Kaspar, Alani Pierce and Kayla Pierce. Mr. Herrera is also survived by his siblings, Vicente Herrera, Angel Herrera, Lola Herrera, Benjamin Herrera and Juan Antonio Herrera, Sr. all of Puerto Rico and his companion, Marie Sanchez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am Tuesday Jan. 14, in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's Third and French Sts., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday evening 7:00pm - 9:00pm and again on Tuesday morning 9:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton.
