Obituary of Thelma M. Brown

Thelma M. Brown (nee Sooy) , 95 of Hammonton passed away on June 14, 2013 at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Atlantic City. Born in Camden she was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. She worked on the family farm and for several florist shops many years ago . She was a member of the Soroptimist International of Hammonton, Hammonton Sunshine Foundation, Hammonton Historical Society, the A.A.R.P., and the United Methodist Women. Thelma loved taking bus trips to Atlantic City and going to the casinos, she also enjoyed gardening. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross during World War II, and for the National Guard Food Bank during Desert Storm. She was predeceased by her husband, New Jersey State Police Lieutenant Fred Earle Brown, her parents, Warren E. Sooy Sr., and Cora E. Sooy (nee Friedley). She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A private gravesiden service was held in Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers or donations please give time and love to someone in need.
