Obituary of Peter L. Carnesale

Peter L. Carnesale, Jr. 84, of Hammonton passed away peacefully Saturday at his residence. Born in Atlantic City he lived in Hammonton for over fifty five years. He was the founder and owner of the Carnesale Funeral Home. Mr. Carnesale was a member and a Past President of The West Jersey Funeral Directors Association, a member of the New Jersey State Funeral Directors and the National Funeral Directors Association. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 186 in Hammonton where he served as service officer for many years. Mr. Carnesale was a member of the VFW Post 1026, and the DAV both in Hammonton. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Vincent Pallotti Council 3477. He was a former member and the First President of St. Martin de Porres Parish Council. He was one of the charter members that helped to form the Hammonton Hawks Football Program. He was a longtime field officier with the Salvation Army. Mr. Carnesale was predeceased by his wife Theresa A. Carnesale. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Terri and Harry Taylor of Cherry Hill, Peter L. Carnesale, III of Monmouth, Donna and John Ward of Galloway, Anne Marie and Sam Lagrotteria, Linda and Guy Bucci all of Hammonton, Gregory Carnesale of Galloway, Nancy and Bob May of Estell Manor, Michael and April Carnesale of Hammonton, his grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Taylor, Grace Ward, Sam and Frankie Lagrotteria, Lynn, Lauren and Guy Bucci, Meghan, R.J. and Stephen May, Mary Theresa, Kate and Peter Carnesale, IV; Michael, Nicky and Christina Carnesale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday , Sept. 12, 2012, 10:30am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Martin de Porres RC Church, 129 Park Ave., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. A viewing will be held Tuesday Sept. 11, 2012 5:30pm - 9:00pm at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S.
