Obituary of John J. Perone

John J. Perone, 78 of Hammonton passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. He formerly worked as a maintenance supervisor and in accounting at Whitehall Laboratories in Hammonton. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Perone was a former treasurer for the Hammonton Hawks, a member of the Jaycees, and a member of the American Legion Post 186 of Hammonton. He enjoyed going to Florida in the winter and spending time at his home in Vero Beach. He loved going fishing and gardening. Mr. Perone was predeceased by his wife Martha G. Perone and his granddaughter Jenna Lynn Perone. He is survived by his two sons, John "Andy" Perone and Tina Perone of Absecon, Ronald A. and Cheryl Perone of Hammonton, his daughter, Fran and Jay Martino of Hammonton, his grandchildren, Drew, Vincent (Janessa Caire), Alyssa, Jason and Brittany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish, Church of St. Martin de Porres, Park Ave. & Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton. Entombment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday 7:00pm until 9:00pm and again on Tuesday 9:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton.
