Salvatore J. Aquila Obituary

Salvatore J. Aquila, 74, of Mays Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 with his children by his side. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a lifelong area resident. Sal served in the United States army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1974 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was able to use the GI benefits to attend college after returning from the war. He was a retired salesman for ThyssenKrupp Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio.

Sal took great pride in his long career as an aluminum and stainless-steel salesman, which allowed for him to achieve his ultimate goal of providing for his family. He was very generous in sharing what he had with those he cared about most while asking for nothing for himself in return. He was a man of many words but preferred to show how much he cared through his actions and sense of giving. Sal enjoyed sunbathing and spending all day at the beach, always striving for the best tan. He most enjoyed a good slice of pizza, a handful of mixed nuts, and chocolate. He was a longtime supporter of Boys Town foundation and Deborah foundation.

Sal was predeceased by his wife, Denise M. Aquila. He is survived by his children, Nicole Veale and her husband Christopher; Andrew Aquila and his wife Susanna McLin; his sister, Therese "Rose" Leonard and her husband William.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ, where a Service of Remembrance will begin at 12:00 pm.
