Obituary of John W. Carey

John W. Carey Sr. , 77 of Hammonton died Wednesday at home. Born in Philadelphia he was a Hammonton area resident for fifty six years. Mr. Carey worked at Whitehall Laboratories in Hammonton and Tri-County Security in Pleasantville. Mr. Carey enjoyed camping, fishing, trips to Lancaster County, PA, and especially spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Helen Carey, his brother, Ralph Carey , and his granddaughter, Angela Cortes. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty seven years Anna Carey (nee Jackowski), his four children, Denise Calletta (Dennis) of Winslow, Linda Rizzotte (Tom) of Egg Harbor Township, John W. Carey Jr. of Egg Harbor Township, and Annamarie Cortes (Jose) of Lindenwold, one brother, David Carey (Eileen) of Sicklerville, three sisters, Miriam Price (William) of Medford, Blanche LaCroix (Ron) of South Windsor, CT, and Helen Miller (Allen) of Hammonton, his grandchildren, Christopher Calletta, Jason Calletta (Andrea), Lauren Rizzotte, Tommy Rizzotte, John Rizzotte, JoAnna Cortes (Martin), Joseph Cortes, Brianna Cortes, his great grandchildren, Javier Cortes and Angelia Calletta. A viewing will be held Saturday February 4, 2012 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph, 226 French Street in Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. Family requests donations to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060 or to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
