Obituary of Chester Calvin Mitchell, Sr.

Chester Calvin Mitchell, Sr., a veteran and longtime Egg Harbor Township resident, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 81, in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center of Galloway. He was born in Altoona, PA. Chester demonstrated exemplary service in the United States Coast Guard, receiving an honorable discharge in 1966. He then transitioned to a successful career working at Resorts Hotel and Casino from opening day and ultimately retiring from Trump Plaza as a floor supervisor.

 

Chester was predeceased by the love of his life, his first wife, Elsa Enid Mitchell, his brother, Stanley Mitchell, his sister, Nora Shelton, and brother-in-law, Dewey Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Seise, his son, Chester Mitchell, Jr., his daughter, Tammy Cadira, his son-in-law, Stephen Cadira, his daughter, Kimberly Dilliplane, his former son-in-law, Craig Dilliplane, Sr., his brother, Roy Mitchell, his niece, Fay Phillips, his step-children, Gilbert Seise, Jr., Ana and Mike Tullio, Lisa and Chris Weeks, Yvette and Chris Winkler, his grandchildren, Cassandra and Ryan Dix, Amanda Cadira and Will Wright, Brieanna Cadira and Craig O'Shea, Alexis Dilliplane and Craig Dilliplane, Jr., Aaron Reed, and his great grandchildren, Wayne Charles Wright, Acea Hugh Dix, and Stephen Calvin Wright.

 

On Monday, October 7, 2024, a viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ 08037. Burial to follow at the Richard Squires Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, 109 NJ-50, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.

 

The family requests any flowers be ordered through Jimmies Florist in Egg Harbor City.
