Bovier R Sims Obituary

Bovier R. Sims (Reid), 61, of Newtonville, NJ passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point. Born in Newark, NJ she has resided in Newtonville since 1995, prior to that she resided in Egg Harbor City followed by Mays Landing, She was a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church in Pleasantville and St. Matthews Baptist Church in Williamstown. Bovier received her education in the Atlantic County School District and was a graduate of Oakcrest High School Class of 1982. She worked as a Purchaser at AtlantiCare, she also worked as a Postmaster relief at the Newtonville Post Office and was a School Aide at Collings Lakes Elementary School. Bovier enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, dining, traveling, and most of all laughing.




Bovier was predeceased by her parents, Robert Reid and Carolyn Suber (Newsome), her sisters, Demetria L. Bagner, Sheila Reid, Carolyn Reid and her sister- in- law Joyce Folks.




She is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne E. Sims, her brothers, Robert M. Reid, and Pierre Reid Sr., her sisters, Narcissa Alwan and Tamiko Suber, her stepchildren, Tamika Barker and Wayne Barker, her sisters- in -law, Audrey Nelson, Marsha Madison and Yvonne (Joe) Kerner, her brother-in- law, Rasheed Abdul Jabbar, her nieces and nephews, Pierre Reid Jr., Kristen A. Reid, Elizabeth D. Nelson, Brianna A. Nelson, Bryant H. Nelson (Victoria), and many other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.




A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM -11:30 AM at St. Paul AME Church, 1203 Harrison Avenue in Pleasantville, NJ, where funeral we services will take place at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made National MS Society, PO Box 91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891 or online at nationalmssociety.org. Arrangements by the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S.
