Roberta J. DeNote Obituary

Roberta J. DeNote, (nee Johnson) 91, of Mullica Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024 in Southern Ocean Medical Center. Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong South Jersey resident. She was a longtime member of the Pinelands Methodist Church. She loved to travel, spending time with her family especially her great granddaughter Lily. Bootsie or Aunt Bootsie as she was known was her families rock and always there for them. There was only one of her. She was strong, stubborn, hardest working woman ever, loving, giving, compassionate, and devoted to her family. She retired from New Jersey Bell in her fifties and moved to Hobe Sound, Florida. She worked in a stationery store and then went to Beall's Department Store where she worked until she was 85. Yes 85 years old. She was proud to be their longest tenured part time employee. Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Peter DeNote, Sr., her parents, Russell and Bessie Johnson; her brothers, John Russell Johnson, Richard "Pete" Johnson, James Johnson and her sister Laverda Snyder. She is survived by her son, Peter N. DeNote, Jr., her grandson Nicholas DeNote (Emily), great granddaughter, Lily DeNote and granddaughter, Emma Kelly, her sister Bessie Doty (Warren), her brother, Harry Johnson (Anna), her sister-in-law Eileen Johnson, her niece June Fusco and many other nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ where a viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, 1300 RT – 130N in Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Batsto Meeting Building Fund, 6 Oaks Drive, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
