MaryAnn Scarpelli Obituary

MaryAnn (Cenatiempo) Scarpelli, 79, of Westborough, Massachusetts passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Born in Queens, New York, and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she met her beloved husband, Joseph Scarpelli who was the love of her life. She started her family and settled in Collings Lake NJ where she raised five beautiful children. Later she built her dream home and retired to the Pocono Mountains.


Mary Ann was a Jill of all trades, owning her own businesses starting with The Godmother's Macaroni Palace, Teenage Casino, and Izzy and Moes Fish Market. She was an amazing school bus driver where all the kids adored and loved her. She worked for the New Jersey Transit for many years. Her last endeavor was working at Outdoor World- Fairway Villas, as the Director of Reservations.


Mary Ann was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who enjoyed nothing more than the company of others. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed having Sunday dinners with family and friends. Her core values were family traditions. Thanksgiving was an amazing time of the year when she welcomed everyone for a feast to remember. She took much pride in preparing for these feasts by cooking family favorites months in advance.


Her family was her first priority! She devoted her life to loving, supporting and caring for them. She sacrificed her whole life to help and support her family, and loved every minute doing so. She truly was the Matriarch of our family!


MaryAnn resided in Massachusetts for the past eleven years of her life.


MaryAnn was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Scarpelli, her son, Carmine Scarpelli, her brother Michael Cenatiempo, her granddaughter, Katrina and grandson Anthony Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Kimmarie Calvanese and her husband Mark, her sons, Joseph Scarpelli and his wife Rhonda, Anthony Scarpelli and his wife Sherry; Frank Scarpelli; her sister, Debbie Reid, 13 grandchildren, Mark, Joseph Jr, Brianna, Nicholas, Carmine Jr, Regina, Nicolette, Gabrielle, Marco, Matteo, Antonio, Frank Jr, & Mia. She had 12 great grandchildren and lastly, 5 nieces and 2 nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Lakes RC Church, 19 Malaga Road, Collings Lakes, NJ. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. Viewings will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, August 14, 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ.
