I met Pearl the day before her 92nd birthday; we were roommates at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Ocean View, both recovering from falls. It was fun meeting her daughter Jen and son-in-law Ben and her grandchildren when they came in to celebrate her birthday, complete with large balloons cake, and flowers; they were very happy surrounding their grandmother for the celebration! My husband Jerry came in every morning with my Wawa coffee, and he soon grew as fond of Pearl as I was. She was a tea drinker, but they consistently sent her coffee on her breakfast tray. So, Jerry brought in cut lemons and made her a cup of tea everyday. We loved Pearl's feisty sense of humor and soon considered her our beloved friend. We worried about her and tried to make her comfortable in any way we could. Thank you, Jen, for sharing your mother with us. We will never forget her and your family.
