Obituary of Mary C. Baker

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary C. Baker, 57 of Collings Lakes, NJ passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Born in Camden, she was a lifelong South Jersey resident. For those who knew Mary "MiMi" or "Hot Rod" they loved her for her best qualities. She was a headstrong, sarcastic, blunt, sassy and bold as brass woman who cared not for the opinions of others, she just cared. She was down to earth and always showed her true self. Our sister was also thoughtful, caring, giving, big-hearted, witty, kind, and so loved. Mary was truly the ultimate caregiver; she always gave more to others than to herself. She was a woman of incredible character and dedication. As a friend, bus driver, caretaker and our sister she was always a constant source of comfort and support to those around her, willing to lend a hand and be there to help with all that was needed in sad times and in happy celebrations. She loved her 7 grandchildren "to the moon and back." Mary enjoyed family time together, whether it be a family BBQ, camping, playing bingo or just hanging out with family and friends. Mary worked at Greenbriar Nursing Home for many years as a CNA. Most recently she has been driving a school bus, first for Sheppard Bus Company then for BR Williams, Inc. Her students loved her, and she will be missed by many of them She was predeceased by her parents, Martha and William T. Baker, and her brother-in-law Tony Wolfe. MiMi is survived by her son, Eddie Baker of Collings Lakes, Brandy Baker of Illinois, her sisters, Martha Anderson (Bob), Virginia Wolfe and Billie Jo Baker, her brothers, William T. Baker, Jr. and Albert Baker. MiMi is also survived by her seven grandchildren who were and always will be in her heart, Jose (Jr.), Moran, Crystal Moran, Eddie Baker, Jr., Leona Tanyer, Doyle Tanyer, Colt Baker and Maximus Sneed, her dog Scooter, 3 great nieces, Kayla, Olivia and Emma Wolfe; 2 nieces, 5 nephews and her special cousin, Georgia. A Celebration Of Life Block Party is planned for Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the neighborhood around 114 Bellwyn Avenue Collings Lakes, NJ 08094
