Obituary of Anna S Carey

Anna S. Carey (nee Jackowski), 89 of Hammonton passed away on Tuesday, May, 21, 2024 at Virtua Health Systems in Voorhees. Born in Philadelphia, PA she lived most of her life in the Hammonton area. Anna had worked at Deer Park Baking Company, the Claridge Hotel & Casino. She finished off her career working at the Walmart in Hammonton where she enjoyed working in the sports department, making hunting licenses and making many friends. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making cards on the computer, going to the casinos in Atlantic City, traveling especially to Lancaster, PA and Cape May, NJ and spending time with family. She was predeceased by her husband, John W. Carey Sr. her two sons in law, Jose Cortes and Dennis R. Calletta and her granddaughter Angela Cortes. She is survived by four children, Denise Calletta, Linda Rizzotte (Tom), John W. Carey Jr. (Dawn DiGioia) and Anna Marie Cortes, one brother, Robert Jackowski (Lynn), one sister, Theresa Peters, eight grandchildren, Chris Calletta, Jason Calletta, Lauren Zappia (Anthony), Tommy Rizzotte (Victoria), John Rizzotte (Ericka), JoAnna Ake (Martin), Joseph Cortes, and Brianna Cortes, ten grandchildren, Javier, Angelia, Kasey, Kelsey, Annalise, Madison, Luciano, Valentino, Sofia and baby Rizzotte due to be born very soon. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9:30 AM – 11:15 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 285 Route 206 in Hammonton, where a Mass off Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation PO Box 1066, Hammonton, NJ 08037 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
