Obituary of Helen Rose Mazza

Helen R. Mazza (nee Malvasi), 93, of Hammonton died peacefully at home on Jan. 4. Born in Elm, she was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. Mrs. Mazza was a sewing machine operator at National Garment Clothing until her retirement. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union and the Hammonton Senior Citizens Club. She was an avid reader, loved flowers and gardening and going to the casinos. She was predeceased by her siblings, Annie Malvasi, Mary Piscitelli, Millie Chiumento, Dillie Malvasi, Florie Garbato, Lucy Steele, Charles Malvasi and Bertha Mavillo. Mrs. Mazza is survived by her husband of 68 years, James (Jack) Mazza; her children, Jackie DeMauro and her husband Sal and Victor Mazza and his companion Toni Ann Ordille, all of Hammonton; her grandchildren, Kris DeRuchie and her husband Dave of Sewell, Greg DeMauro and his wife Lori of Mebane, NC, Sandy DeMauro of Wellington, FL, Mike Mazza of Seattle, WA and Matt Mazza of Newton, PA; six great-grandchildren; brother in law, Vince Mazza of Hammonton, her sisters in law, Angie Mazza; Lois Mazza both of Hammonton and Marijo Mazza of Las Vegas and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing for family and friends will be held 6:00pm to 8:30pm, Sunday Jan. 8, and 8:30am - 9:30am on Monday Jan. 9, at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Jan. 9, 10:00am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton.
