Obituary of John A. Amendolia, Jr.

John A. Amendolia, Jr., 72 of Hammonton passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. John was the self employed owner of the Columbia I and Columbia Caterers both in Hammonton. He also worked at W. M. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton for many years. He was a longtime member of the Hammonton Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he served as Chief for many years. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking and fishing. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was predeceased by his parents, John A. and Marie (nee Comunale) Amendolia Sr., and his sister, Barbara A. Perna. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy L. Amendolia (nee Gaspero), fours sons, John A. Amendolia III (Janelle), Joseph Amendolia (Holly), Peter Benedetti (Jaime), and Michael Benedetti, five grandchildren, Dominic, Nicholas, Olivia, Cameron, and Luke. A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. . Entombment will be held privately at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
