Horace Edward Nichols, Jr., 82, of Collings Lakes passed away Thursday in Kennedy University Hospital, Washington Township. Born in Atlantic City he was a lifelong South Jersey resident. He was a maintenance supervisor for Universal Supply Company of Hammonton. Mr. Nichols was an army veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid bowler, but his passion was stock car racing. He was the 1963 Points Champion at the Atlantic City Raceway. Also, in 1963 he had a combined 43 Features at the Atlantic City and Vineland Raceways. Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife, Eileen Nichols (nee Rainford), his children, Ron Gullo of Upper Deerfield Twp., Valerie LaManna of Hammonton, Antoinette Gullo of Mays Landing, Eddie Nichols and Richard Nichols both of Collings Lakes, one sister, Grace Davis of Ventnor, his brother Walt Nichols of Egg Harbor Twp., 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services and burial in Greenmount Cemetery were held at the convenience of the family. Memorial Donations may be made to the family.
