Obituary of Maria Emilia Alvarado

Maria E. Alvarado, 85, of Egg Harbor passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at her son's home in Atlantic City. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico she lived in South Jersey for many years. She formerly worked for Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Maria was also a seamstress working at several clothing manufacturers through the years. She was a devout Catholic and was very involved in her Church. Maria was a member and active participant in the Cursillo Movement. She was predeceased her son, Feliz Alvarado. Maria is survived by her five children, Elvin Alvarado, Marisol Alvarado both of Atlantic City, Raul Alvarado of Ventnor, Edwin Alvarado of Berlin and Enid Alvarado (Jeremias Crespo) of Florida, two sisters, Margarita Cruz; Irene Cortez; two brothers, Hector Perez; Armando Perez; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 15, 2023, 11:00 am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's 226 French Street, Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ
