Obituary of Izchak B. Cohen

Izchak B. Cohen, 85, of Atlantic City, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his residence, with his family at his side. Born in Tanjier, Morocco to the late Abraham and Farha (nee Benaksas)Cohen. Izchak went to Israel at the age of 12 where he served in the military. He spoke six different languages fluently. Izchak came to America and worked in the clothing industry in sales. He was also a perfume salesman in New York. He enjoyed going to the casinos, playing the slot machines and poker with his friends. Besides his parents he is also predeceased by his sister, Esther Benaksas and brother Max Benaksas. Izchak is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Cohen (nee Maimone); his son Michael G. Cohen and his wife Terri; his grandson, Dylan Cohen all of Monroe, NJ, his stepdaughter, Sheryl M. Maimone of Galloway; his former wife, Dorene Cohen Sherry of Monroe; his brothers, Albert Benaksas of Toronto, Canada, Remi Benaksas and his sisters, Annette Akoka and Rita Cabessa all from Hod Hasharon, Israel and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Angelic Palliative and Hospice Care and Dr. Peter Kuponiyi. Graveside Services will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, 11:00 AM at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road, Hammonton.
