Obituary of Josie Phyllis DeMarco

Josie Phyllis DeMarco, 50, of Portland, Maine passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Hamilton Township, NJ. Josephine was born in Vineland, raised in Mullica Township and lived most of her adult life in Maine. She was a 1990 graduate of Oakcrest High School, where she participated in the marching band, and modern dance. She was very active in her community in Maine where she volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen, Portland Recovery Community Center, Center for Grieving Children, the Dignity Fund, Deering Center Church, and Grace House. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary A. DeMarco (nee DiMatteo). She is survived by her father, Diego DeMarco, two sisters, Nicolena J. Britton (Daniel), Dina M. Engelman (John), her nieces and nephews, John P. Engelman Jr., Cierra J. Fifer, Brianna N. Engelman, Nicholas J. Fifer, Annalise J. Engelman and Arnold J. Engelman, great nephews, Kingsley and Lincoln Echevarria, her aunt and godmother, Joan E. Brown, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her fur children, Princess Di and Max a Million. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton.
