Obituary of Carmen Mantilla

Carmen Mantilla Delgado, 71, of Hammonton, NJ, went home to her heavenly father on Tuesday,June 21, 2022 to enjoy the eternal banquet that is the kingdom of God. The angels sing Allelujah, Allelujah, Allelujah. She passed peacefully at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Carmen was born in Alacranes, Cuba. She was an outstanding student graduating with a degree in horticulture. Carmen was a skillful grafter whose talent and many contributions helped shape the successful growth of citrus farms in Jaguey Grande, Cuba, and educate many young people in the art. Carmen lived in Cardenas, Cuba before immigrating to the United States in May, 1980. She moved to Hammonton, NJ, in January, 1987. After 29 years as a custodian for Mullica Township School District, she retired to pursue missionary work with her church (Centro Restauracion Espiritual Shammah), and travel. Carmen was known for her uplifting personality and irreplaceable laughter. Family was the utmost important thing to her, she was extremely proud of her children. Her grandkids and great grandkids were her biggest joy in life. Her favorite phrase, "Estoy en Victoria, because she knew God was always by her side. Carmen was predeceased by her parents, Emiliana Amelia Delgado and Lauro Mantilla, and her brothers Ramon and Julio Mantilla Delgado. She is survived by her daughters Danays Hernandez, married to Vincente Hernandez Jr. (Hammonton), and Daymis Alicea, married to Gilberto Alicea (Mays Landing), grandchildren Daymi Alvarado, partner Carlos Rolon (West Chester, PA), Dianeli Alvarado, partner Ryan Findeison (Egg Harbor City), Jaythan Alvarado, married to Dominique Alvarado (Mays Landing), Julian Alicea (Mays Landing), Jacob Alicea (Virginia), and Dayani Alicea (Mays Landing), and great grandchildren, Delanie, Carlos, Jaxon, and Jaycen Rolon (West Chester, PA).
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at CRES Ministries, 1409 W. Broad Street in Egg Harbor City, where a Celebration of Carmen's life will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CRES Ministries, 1409 W. Broad Street, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215.
