Edward P. Schellhas, 99, was called home to God, on June 16, 2022. At home, surrounded by his loving family, he found eternal peace after battling multiple health issues. Born to Ida K. & William Schellhas, the sixth of nine children, on June 24, 1922 in Folsom. He was a lifelong resident of Folsom. He graduated Hammonton High School in 1940. He was a World War II veteran. He graduated from the United States Maritime service and served on the George B. McClellan Liberty Ship as a Radio Operator with the Merchant Marines. After completing service to his country, he returned to farming, married his lifelong wife, Dorcas, and had three children. While farming, Ed also worked for RCA in Camden, NJ. After years of farming, he became a carpenter and a member of the South Jersey Carpenter's Union (Presently Local 255). He was a lifetime member of the St. James Lutheran Church where he served on many committees. He also served on the Folsom Board of Education for many years. In his free time, Ed enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and gardening. One of his favorite summer hobbies was spending time with loved ones in the family pool. Ed will be deeply missed.
