Obituary of Maria C Cruz

Maria C. Cruz, 80, of Elwood passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway Township. Born in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico she has lived in the Hammonton and Elwood area for seventy years. Before retiring she worked as a seamstress for Absecon Mills in Cologne. Maria was a great supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking for family especially Sunday dinners, playing cards, Pokeno and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles. She was predeceased by her husband Louis Cruz, by her parents, Osvaldo Quinones and Genoveva Galarza and her sister, Luz Elenia Baez. She is survived by three children, Sonia Cruz - Robinson (Kenneth), Mayra Cruz and Marisol Cruz, five grandchildren, Kenneth, Julian, Gabriel, Natalie, and MiaMaria. two brothers, Oswaldo Quinones Jr., Jorge Medina, two sisters, Ramonita Quinones, Georgina Quinones and Luz Maldonado A viewing will be held on Saturday May 28, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday 11:30 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road, Hammonton, NJ.
