Obituary of Victor M. Bermudez

Victor M. Bermudez, 77, of Hammonton, passed away on Sunday in Atlantic Care Regional Med. Center Mainland Division. Born in Manati, PR he lived in Hammonton for many years. He was a retired machine operator for Eastern Brewery of Hammonton and Schmidt's Brewery in Philadelphia. Mr. Bermudez also worked as a chef at Ancora Hospital. He was a founding member of the Puerto Rican Civic Association of Hammonton. He was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church Spanish Choir, where he also played the guitar. Mr. Bermudez was a lifelong musician and played with various different Trio Bands in the area. He was predeceased by his brother, Felix Bermudez. Victor is survived by his wife of 30 years Nimia O. Bermudez (nee Lopez), three children, Michael DeJesus of Galloway Twp., David DeJesus (Ada) of Egg Harbor Twp.; Lisa Whitehurst (William) of Burlington, his grandson whom he raised, Kevin Majett, his niece, Maria Delacruz of Mullica, his nephew Felix Bermudez, III (Nayda) of Hammonton, seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:00am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish at St. Joseph's RC Church, N. Third St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday 7:00pm to 9:00pm, and again on Thursday morning 8:30am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton.
