Obituary of Hrisostomos "Chris" Akras

Hrisostomos "Chris" Akras,93, of Williamstown passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Cedar Grove Nursing Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, he then lived many years in Greece. He lived in South Jersey for the last thirty years and he was very proud to become an American Citizen. Before retiring he worked as a tailor and pattern maker for J.G. Hook Clothing. He lived a full life and enjoyed traveling all over the world. He enjoyed gardening and raising birds especially canaries. He was predeceased by his wife, Eftihia Akras. He is survived by two sons, Julius Akras (Diane) of Hammonton, Steve Akras (Janice) of Mays Landing, four grandchildren, Eftihia, Chris, Sarah, Maria and six great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
