Obituary of Louis C. Ricci

Louis C. Ricci, 85 of Hammonton died on Saturday at Shore Memorial Hospital. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. Mr. Ricci was an U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, he served on the U.S.S. Wisconsin. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 1026 in Hammonton. He worked for many years as Store Manager at the A& P Grocery Store in Hammonton, and then later he worked at Whitehall Laboratories in Hammonton. He loved to tell jokes, read, spend time with his cats, go to the casino, family dinners and he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Mr. Ricci was predeceased by his parents, Marie and Carl Ricci, two brothers, John and Andre Ricci, and one sister, Odile Evans. He is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Josephine Ricci (nee DiSalvo), one daughter, Angela Shami and son in law Sabih Shami of Northfield, two grandsons, Rehman Shami and his wife, Sarah of Chicago, IL, Adam Shami of Northfield, great grandson, Elan Joshua Shami of Chicago, IL, one brother, James Ricci and his wife, Cathy of Linwood, two sisters, Chantal Holcombe of Hammonton, Claudette Ricci of Lancaster, PA, one brother in law, Joseph DiSalvo and his wife, Carole of Downers Grove, IL, two sisters in law, Joan Ricci of Buena and Mae Schuh of West Deptford, also survived by many nieces, nephews and his faithful felines. A viewing be held on Wednesday September 28, 2011 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton.
