Mr. McClendon was a mentor and a role model for generations of young people. He had a quiet dignity and humility that was inspirational. Mr. McClendon earned the respect of the entire community which included Vineland, Mizpah, Buena and beyond as a business person and community leader. When I became an educator in the Buena School system he was among the first to congratulate me. His words of wisdom stayed with me and I still carry them in my heart. At a time like this I lean on the promises of the Bible. One’s passing is not the end of life but a part of life. His body has stopped functioning but his spirit has life eternal. He leaves a fine legacy in his children and his loving virtuous wife. He may be gone from our presence but our fond memories of his kindness, generosity, and caring personality will live on far into the future. I ask the family to please accept my sympathy, empathy, and condolences for the loss of your loved one. Respectfully submitted, Kenneth Nelson
