Rose (Totoro) Sorrentino age 93 of Elm passed away peacefully at Virtua Hospital in Marlton on Friday July 1, 2011. Born in Hammonton she lived all of her life there until 1965 when she moved to Elm, NJ. Rose worked side by side with her husband, Augie owning and operating restaurants in Hammonton and Elm, their last restaurant was Augie's Country House in Elm. She was a hairdresser by trade, and she was one of the first employees at Whitehall Labs in Hammonton. After retiring in her eighties, she enjoyed reading the NY Post daily and going to the casinos. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Augie and her children, Paul and Rose. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, JoAnn Sorrentino and many loving family members. She will be sadly missed by her friends and relatives who had coffee with her each morning. A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:30 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton. Arrangements by the Carnesale Funeral Home in Hammonton.
