Jimmie R. Davis, 89, of Hammonton passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020. He was born in Harlingen, TX but moved around a lot with his family. He met his wife, Betty, in Arkansas where they married on November 26, 1952. Jimmie entered the United States Air Force in 1954 as an airplane mechanic and he retired from military service as a Staff Sergeant 20 years later. During this time, he and his family traveled to many places around the world. After retirement, they settled in Niles, Michigan where he lived until 2015 when he and his wife came to Hammonton to live with his son, Tim. Jimmie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was very loving and full of grace. He loved God and was devoted to serving Him. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Niles, MI. After coming to New Jersey, he attended the Pitman Road Church of Christ with his family. Jimmie was predeceased by his son, Steve Davis, his brother, Fred Davis, and his sister, Naomi Davis. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Davis, his son, Tim Davis and his wife, Melody and his son Steve's wife, Lynette. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn Davis and four grandchildren, Toria Haden (Nathan), Katie Landreth (Daniel), Logan Davis (Adyson) and Cassidy Davis. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
