Obituary of Santos Alverio

Santos Alverio Rosa, 93, of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Born and raised in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Mr. Alverio started his career as a young entrepreneur opening a tobacco shop in Puerto Rico leading him into the hospitality industry and ultimately retiring from Hilton properties. Santos had the opportunity to migrate to Chicago, IL and New York where he lived for many years before moving to Hammonton. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmen Luisa Rosa, his son, Santos "Rocky" Alverio, Jr. and siblings Cruz, Rafaela, Onorio, Esteban, Maria, Evangelia, Dolores, Carmen, Julio, and Margarita. Mr. Alverio is survived by his sister, Clemencia Rodriguez and brother Angel Ozoa of Bethlehem, PA; his son, George Alverio (Maria Cruz) of Millville; his grandchildren, Melanie Alverio, Richard "Ricky" Alverio, Christian Alverio, Carlos Alverio, Alex Alverio, Dennis Alverio; his great grandson, Mason Javier Dorsey; great granddaughters, Jazzelle, Anjabelle, Jaslene, Samaria Ranee, Ariana, Alaysa, Anilise and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Santos Alverio had many hobbies. He was an avid gardener and loved sharing his harvest with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, storytelling, hosting family gatherings, knitting, and painting. While we will miss him greatly, a part of him will always be within us. The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Heritage Assisted Living, Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, and his special friends Cathy Dorsey and son Jason Dorsey.
