Pearl Devine of Elwood, NJ was born on May 5, 1925 in Waynesboro, GA to the late Willie Mae and Lonnie Johnson. She attended school in Georgia and then relocated to South Jersey in the late 50's. She began working for Mrs. Paul's Frozen Foods and later worked at the Atlantic City Race Track for many years. Mrs. Devine attended First Holiness Church of God in Christ for forty years, where she was the Pastor's Aide leader for thirty years. She was very faithful and devoted to her church family. She also loved gardening. Mrs. Devine was predeceased by her husband, Willie Devine, her sisters Rosalie Palmer, Mary (Thomas) Travis, Eliza Mae (Clarence) Mays, daughter Evelyn (Eddie) Nelson, grandson, Ivory Bennett. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Mary Bennett, granddaughter, Nvelyn Bennett, two great granddaughters, Destiny Randolph; Enyah Oneal; her Godson, Clarence(Jane) Mays and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a special friend Carl Harrington. Funeral Services will be held Friday 10:00am at the Greater Love Chapel Church, 279 Prince Albert St. Elwood, where a viewing will be held from 9:00am until 10:00am. Burial will follow in Elwood Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Carnesale Funeral Home, Hammonton.
