Obituary of Anthony Leone

Anthony J. "Tony" Leone, 90, of Hammonton passed away suddenly despite suffering a stroke a year ago, on Thursday, June 15, 2017 in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Division. Born in Philadelphia he lived in Vineland from 1948 to 1997, he then moved to Hammonton 20 years ago. Tony was a glass grinder for Ace Glass, Inc. of Vineland for over 34 years. He was President of Local 153 of the American Flint Glass Blowers Union. He was predeceased by his six brothers and sisters, Santina Leone, Grace Arena, John Leone, Josephine Russo, Ernest Leone and Marion Bruno.  Tony is survived by his wife, Brenda Leone (nee Platanella-Owens); three daughters, Joan Farley, Mary Miranda-Pilling(Gary) of Vineland, Toni Carol Spadaro of N. Carolina; his two step-daughters, Kim DeClement (Fred) of Sweetwater; Sherri Owens of Hammonton; one brother, Salvatore Leone; five grandchildren, Michael Miranda, Daniel Pilling (Courtney), Brian Spadaro; Corey Bollinger and Blake Bollinger; two great grandchildren, Nathaniel Pilling and Norah Pilling; his sisters in law Carol Sherwin (Barry); Edna Mazzola and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 11:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, where a viewing will be held from 9:00am until 11:00am. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton.
