Obituary of Catherine M. Scardino

Catherine M. Scardino, 57, of Hammonton passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. Born in Philadelphia she was raised in Glenolden, PA and has lived in Hammonton for thirty seven years. She was a graduate of Interboro High School in Delaware County, PA. Before retiring Cathy worked as an executive assistant with Verizon in Egg Harbor Township. She had formerly worked in the accounting department for Wm. B. Kessler Clothing Company in Hammonton. She was an active member of Gilda's Club of South Jersey, and St. Martin DePorres R.C. Church, where she encouraged her daughters to participate in the choir and church services.. Cathy enjoyed supporting her daughters in all of their sporting events, and school related activities. In addition she was a Team Mom for over ten years for the Cape Atlantic Tigers softball team. Cathy was a loving, practical, talented, and creative woman whose creations were always given as gifts. She always welcomed every person into her home with open arms. Wherever she went , she always made sure everyone had something to eat and was comfortable. She was predeceased by her parents, John C. and Ruthanna Coyle; and her brother Lee. She is survived by her husband of thirty seven years, David E. Scardino; four daughters, Jonelle Scardino, Catie Scardino both of Mullica Township, Jaclyn Scardino and Virginia Scardino both of Hammonton; her sisters, Carol and Margie; and many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a close knit group of friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1066, Hammonton, NJ 08037 or to Gilda's Club of South Jersey, 300 Shore Road, Linwood, NJ 08221. Arrangements by the Carnesale Funeral Home in Hammonton.
