My condolences to his family. Nick was a real asset to the community and his family. I was employed by Bellevue Drug as a pharmacist and worked at both his Rexall and Bellevue stores. I considered him sturdy as he would manage the stores through sickness and in health. Everyone knew him and he was so friendly to all. I remember seeing his face through the phone (no, we didn't have smart phones back in 1969) when I learned that I was drafted into the US Army and became a pharmacist in a military hospital. When I told him the news, all he could say was "Oh, Noooo."
He was a good teacher and I learned a lot from his guidance because I was a new pharmacist and he really helped me along. I often think of Nick especially when I pass the pharmacy that he renovated a few times. He was definitely a legend in Hammonton.

My sincere condolences to the relatives, employees and community at the loss of beloved Nicky Varga,
When my husband and I first moved into the area 32 years ago, we soon discovered it can be a little difficult to make friends in a town like Hammonton where 3-4 generations of families reside in the same town. If you don't have children it is even more difficult. We were lucky that we chose Varga (Bellevue) Drug Store and met Nicholas Varga. What a sweet, welcoming, helpful, generous, wise man.
When my husband developed Multiple Myeloma, Nick was quick to make a referral for an informed second opinion, Over the years, Nick and I have compared stories about our spinal surgeries, medications, and range of motion. And Nick was thee for me as three different cancers tested my resolve.
The world has lost a GEM. But we are all better than we would have been had we not interacted with Nicholas Varga. We will all need to try and channel our "inner Nicky" I guess.

I am honored to have met Nick. During the time I spent taking care of him, I very quickly became good friends, and I didn't take care of him as his CNA, but as a caring friend. He was a true gentleman, and I will always treasure the time we had together.

We are saddened by Nick's passing. Bellevue Drug was my first job as a pharmacist in 1969 and we developed a good relationship ever since. I was impressed by Nick's tireless effort to serve his community even when he was to the point of exhaustion. He knew everyone by name and was a friend to all. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
His loss cannot be measured by words.

We were so very to hear of Nicky's passing. We have been a customer of Bellevue Drugs for Over 50 years! No one could ever be as kind as he was. If I had a small health problem I could go to him and he would tell us what we could use to make it better! My three children all worked for him. He was "Family"!!! We will miss him dearly!! Our hearts go out to his family.

He was a very loving, caring & devoting person. He thought nothing to go out of his way for anyone at anytime. When my son was born hi was very ill. Nicky was the only pharmacist that went out of his way to order this very expensive medicine! Not to mention he had to compound it himself for my son to take it bc he was a infant at the time! All of the other pharmacy's turned me away. LJ was a preemie & it was a necessities that he had this med! For Mr Varga, it was no issue. He made it as stress free & accimadating as possible. So my son was healthy! No matter what the issue was! He was a true class act always with a smile greeting you at the door. Never forgot a face or a family. My condolences to the family! As well as my Prayers & thoughts with you all..
Sincerely
Roselle L Valentino
& my son LJ ❤️

As the business grew I didn't see much of nick but when I did he was always reminiscing with me about things. Nick was and is a good man so helpful and knowledgeable and helped me and my family out always answering questions or just having a chat.... Rest in Peace Nick

Mr. Varga was a fabulous person. I remember when my son had to have eye drops. My son was 5, I had a terrible time getting them in. So I took my son and the drops to Mr. Varga. He took my son to front of store and sat on the lift chair. They had a conversation with him. He put drops in his eyes, never had another problem. He took time and was patient.
I and many will miss you.

As a young, struggling college student, Nick offered me a position working in the pharmacy. I accepted his offer and interpreted it as a true gift from God. In those days, he was the main cog in a very well oiled machine and needed only one clerk for each shift as his staff. Nick was my teacher, mentor and friend as I worked along side him in serving the Hammonton community he so greatly loved. His Mom would bring him dinner each evening and the entire store would fill with the delicious fragrance of her cooking. She would never linger and made her deliveries as efficient as the pharmacy she and her husband had trained Nick to operate. I learned countless life lessons at Nick's side and the skills taught during the hours of my employ remain essential as I travel life's journey. We all have unforgettable characters who help shape our lives...Nick Varga is certainly one of my most treasured friends. May his journey to Heaven be quick and may his travel be guided by the white light and grace of God's love.

To the Varga Family,
We are so saddened by the loss of Mr. Varga He will greatly missed. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone he ran into. I will personally miss his pat on my shoulder and his sincerity in asking how my family and myself are doing. He was not only a very caring pharmist but seemed to know all his customers by name. He not only showed his caring in his pharmacy, but extended it to everything he did.
He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched in his life.
