Leonides Vazquez, 83, of Hammonton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Leonides was a proud resident of Hammonton for more than 60 years.

Leonides dedicated 25 years of his life to Lenox China. He was a devoted family man who found great joy in spending time with his loved ones. He especially cherished fishing and crabbing with his grandchildren and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, generosity, and love for his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Leonides was predeceased by his beloved wife, Amelia Vazquez; his son, Johnny Vazquez; his parents, Emiliano Vazquez and Alejandrina Acevedo; and his brother, Manuel Vazquez.

He leaves behind his son, Freddy Vasquez Sr., and his four grandchildren: Freddy Vasquez Jr. (Alyssa), Sammuel Vasquez (Veronica), Tatianna Vazquez, and Jonathan Vasquez. He is also survived by his eight cherished great-grandchildren: Gabriella Vasquez, Kaylee Vasquez, Greyson Vasquez, Lorenzo Vasquez, Luca Vasquez, Kailanys Barreto, Steel Vazquez, and Rebel Vazquez.

Leonides leaves behind a legacy of love, family, kindness, and countless memories that will be treasured for generations to come. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday 11:30 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church Parish of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton.
