Joseph LaSasso Obituary

Joseph LaSasso, 87, of Hammonton passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for J Fletcher Creamer & Son in Folsom, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 825.


He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara LaSasso (Durney), three daughters, Gina LaSasso, Kim MacLane (Jim), Colleen Lockwood (Gary), and the true loves of his life his grandchildren, Rachel MacLane (Tony), Rebecca MacLane (Jarrett), Joseph Lockwood, Kaitlyn MacLane, and Dylan Lockwood, his great grandson, Ashton, sister-in-law Karen LaSasso, brother-in-law Martin Durney (Bernadette), also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.


He was predeceased by his parents, Frank J and Mary (Rongione), his siblings, Frank (Betty), Rose Scaffidi (John), Marion, Richard, Dianna Aragona Robert "Rollo", and Linda.


He enjoyed his winter months in Florida with his wife Barbara. He never missed a chance to spend time with his grandchildren, from rides to work, singing recitals, dance recitals, dancing to the Wiggles, holding his great grandson or Marine Boot Camp graduation, he was always there.


He enjoyed many breakfasts at Dunkin Donuts with his pals, Pat Migliacco, Jimmy Migliacco, Jack Rehman, Leon Valentino, Jim Regan and Alan Szabo.


Funeral services will be private, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bancroft School, 311 Walton Ave., Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054 or Nemours Children's Hospital - Delaware, 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
