William T. Baker Jr., 56, of Collings Lakes, New Jersey, passed away on February 7, 2026.
William proudly served in the United States Army and deeply loved his country. He loved the outdoors and could often be found enjoying firearms, fishing, kayaking, long walks or building campfires-usually larger than necessary, but always impressive.
Bill had a way of approaching everyone with a smile and a personality that was funny, goofy, witty and unapologetically sarcastic. Those who knew Bill will always remember his collection of T-Shirts featuring witty- and at times inappropriate -sayings that he made everyone endure with a grin.
Around Bellwyn Avenue, William was the self-appointed, ever-watchful Sheriff of the neighborhood, he was always watching out for others and always helpful when needed. Recently, he found joy in checking in with a BullHorn, much to their amusement (and occasional annoyance), whether offering warnings, commentary, or unsolicited neighborhood updates, his presence was unmistakable.
Bill was predeceased by his father, William T. Baker Sr.; his mother, Martha V. Baker; and his sister, Mary Baker. William is survived by his brother, Albert Baker; his sisters, Martha Anderson (Robert), Virginia Wolfe, and Billie Jo Baker; six nephews; three nieces; five great-nephews; and five great-nieces, all of whom will continue to share his stories, humor, and unforgettable personality.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the outdoor committal shelter at Richard Squires Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, 109 NJ Route 50, Estell Manor, NJ. 08330.
