Henry G. Dayton, Sr., 86, of Collings Lakes, NJ passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Division. Born in Somers Point, NJ he was a lifelong South Jersey resident. He formerly worked for J.L.P. Vending Company of Egg Harbor City. He was a Cub Scout Leader for many years. Mr. Dayton served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Dayton was predeceased by his sons, Henry "Skeets" Dayton, Jr. and William Dayton, his brothers, Walter Dayton, Richard Dayton, Sr., Benjamin Dayton and George Dayton and his nephew Richard Dayton, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Doris M. Dayton (nee Springer); his four children, David Dayton, Dorie Keener and her husband William, Robert Dayton and Debra Ferrigno and her husband Anthony, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
