Demetrio Cortes Perez Jr., 58 of Egg Harbor City passed away at home on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico he lived the majority of his life in Egg Harbor City. Demetrio had previously worked at Trump Castle in Atlantic City. He loved to sing, do art work and write poems.

He was predeceased by his parents, Demetrio Cortes Ortiz Sr. and Irene Perez - Cruz, his brother, Edwin Cortes and his sister, Diana Cortes. He is survived by his wife, Maria Martinez, five children, Jose Valentin, Ana Valentin, Angelica Valentin, Emanuel Valentin and Amanda Valentin, three brothers, Angel Cortes (Walfa), Eddie Cortes (Melissa Escribano) and Norberto Cortes, one sister, Evelyn Cortes, and many grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Carnesale Funeral Home. 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton.
